FIFA President Gianni Infantino hopes a team from Asean has a chance to qualify for the World Cup In the coming 2026 . FIFA World Cup 2026 will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico with some game modifications and up to 48 teams.

Adding more teams will also make some changes to the continents. Increased number of candidates from all continents to play in the World Cup finals. Obviously in Asia will increase to eight and a half seats.
