According to Mundo Deportivo Spain trusted source Barcelona will demand 85 million for Frenkie de Jong to leave this summer.
De Jong has rejected Manchester United in 2022 for his place at Camp Nou. At the time they were bidding 70 million to sign him but Barca demanded almost 100 million to let him go.
This season Barca forgot with manager Xavi announced that he will step down at the end of 2023/24.
The midfielder contract expires in 2026 but talks over a new player with Barcelona have not gone as planned.
Due to financial constraints Barca reportedly urged De Jong to reduce his salary. He is now the club highest earner earning £231.000 a week.
Negotiations have stalled with De Jong likely to seek a move elsewhere as Barcelona plunges into further turmoil.
If United were willing to sign De Jong Barca price match would probably be easier than settling on a pay deal with the Dutchman.
