Diario Sport says Barcelona president Joan Laporta likes Jurgen Klopp and would be happy to appoint him as Barca coach if he can.
Laporta has always admired the German manager for his in-depth understanding of football and his ability to adapt everywhere. Therefore Laporta wanted to bring Klopp to Barca when Ronald Koeman was appointed in 2021 but he abandoned the idea while Klopp was firmly entrenched as Liverpool manager.
However there is a chance of getting Klopp this time around after he surprised Liverpool and their fans by announcing he would leave the club at the end of the season.
The 56-year-old manager cited a lack of energy and fatigue as his reasons for leaving Liverpool. Pep Guardiola said almost the same thing when he left Barca in 2012.
Klopp did not rule out a return to management when he left Anfield but said he would only manage a club outside of England if he wanted to.
Barcelona are currently coached by Xavi whose future looks uncertain as the club have been unable to maintain stability.
This season Barcelona have been knocked out of the Cup and failed to win the Spanish Supercopa. Xavi hopes of saving his job at the moment are in Barca form in La Liga and the Champions League.
