Earlier Carlo Ancelotti asked the club to sign a new center back in January. Real Madrid president Juni Calafat has begun exploring the market but does not appear to have found a viable option.
Ancelotti will rely on Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni against Mallorca on January 3. After that Nacho suspension will end and Carlo can return to play him with Rudiger.
