Mundo Deportivo reports that Kylian Mbappe has emerged as a Barcelona option with his contract set to expire in six months.
Mbappe will be free to speak to other clubs from January 1 unless he signs a new contract within the next six days. The striker current contract expires in June 2024.
However it is noted that it will take a huge economic effort for Barca to sign Mbappe. The Frenchman earns a total of 72 million a season at PSG. That is almost three times more than Barca highest-paid Frenkie De Jong.
Mbappe has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid with media reports claiming he sees himself as a Madridista if he ever leaves PSG. It all makes the transfer almost impossible for Barca to withdraw.
This season Mbappe has been criticized again for PSG scoring 21 goals and assisting a few times in 22 games for PSG. However critics say his career could have peaked if he left PSG and signed for a better club in the league.
