According to David Ornstein Arsenal are currently in active talks with Takehiro Tomiyasu over a new contract.
The Gunners have already offered the Japanese international a contract although his current deal will not expire before 2025.
Tomiyasu is expected to reach an agreement with Arsenal soon to sign a new long term contract with the club.
Available full backs have become an integral part of Mikel Arteta squad this season and put in a good performance.
He plans to join the roster to sign a new deal with Arsenal this year with Martin Odegaard Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
The 25 year old has made 18 appearances for the Gunners this season scoring once and passing twice twice.
