We want to keep Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo for next season because they are very important for the squad Barca sporting director Deco told RAC1 on Tuesday.
Deco remarks aside, signing the two players permanently will cost Barca a lot of money. According to Marca Luis Rojo the overall price could reach a staggering €100m.
Manchester City paid €65m to sign Cancelo from Juventus in 2019 and wouldn't want to sell the player for less than half of what they got him. That means his price tag hovers around the €30m mark.
As for Felix it's a similar situation. The attacker joined Atletico Madrid from Benfica in 2019 for €127m. Regardless of him not being wanted by both the manager and fans at Atleti today the Rojiblancos are insisting on getting at least €70m for his signature. That's why they want him to keep performing well at Barca and become an undisputed starter.
It all puts Barca in a dicey situation considering their financial limitations recently. This summer Barca struggled to register their new signings and some old players in the league due to La Liga FFP restrictions. Forking out €100m for the two Joao might be quite a stretch.s
