Kasper Schmeichel didn't stay without a club for long after his contract with OGC Nice was terminated on deadline day.
The former Leicester goalkeeper quickly found a new home, signing with Belgian side RSC Anderlecht. Schmeichel, 36, has joined them on a one-year contract, keeping him at the club until June 2024.
Speaking to the official Anderlecht website, he said: After speaking with [Sports CEO] Jesper [Fredbeg] and [Manager] Brian [Riemer], I was very excited about the project that they’re putting in place.
Anderlecht is just a massive club and former teammates from different places have always talked so highly and warmly of this place. It was something that I really wanted to become part of.
Schmeichel departed Nice when he lost his spot as the starting goalkeeper to Marcin Bulka, who was signed from PSG.
