Manchester City have offered £70 million to sign Lucas Paqueta, the West Ham midfielder, as reported by talkSPORT.
However, West Ham seem hesitant to let go of the Brazilian player and are expected to ask for more than the £70 million offered.
Paqueta had a successful debut season in the Premier League, scoring four goals. He played a crucial role in David Moyes' Europa Conference League squad after joining from Lyon last year for a club-record fee of £53 million.
If Paqueta leaves, West Ham might face challenges in their midfield, especially after selling Declan Rice to Arsenal in a massive £105 million deal. Paqueta's potential departure would further thin their midfield ranks.
Manchester City, who won three major trophies, is in search of strengthening their midfield options after the departure of Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez earlier in the summer.
