Barcelona reach agreement with Joao Cancelo

Barcelona have reached an agreement with Joao Cancelo on his summer move, reports Gianluigi Longari.

The deal is not totally done yet he notes. However, the Portuguese is already very close to Barca.

The 29-year-old would most likely arrive on loan with a buyout option. The loan fee would be around €10m, with Barca having to pay his wages too.

Xavi reportedly prioritises signing Cancelo over any other right-back. Barcelona have even made an offer for Ivan Fresneda, but the head coach is said to have asked to postpone his signing.

On Tuesday, the Barca boss publicly revealed the need to go for a right-back following Ousmane Dembele's departure. Xavi apparently doesn't believe the Frenchman can be replaced, so he'd rather sign an attacking full-back to make up for the loss.

Joao Cancelo plays for Manchester City. Last season, he was on loan at Bayern Munich.
