David Beckham's contract to feature in the popular video game FIFA was reportedly more lucrative than some of the contracts he had during his playing career.
Despite playing for top clubs like Manchester United, Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, AC Milan, and Paris Saint Germain, Beckham is said to have earned more from his FIFA 21 deal.
During his time at Manchester United, he earned a reported weekly wage of £100,000, and when he moved to Los Angeles, he signed a five-year deal worth £25 million.
However, Beckham was offered a three-year deal worth £40 million to be a special icon player in FIFA 21, surpassing his previous earnings. It was definitely an easy way for Beckham to add to his brand and make money.
He said SPORTbible: "I'm so proud to be returning to EA Sports with my FIFA 21 Beckham Edition cover. Excited to be back on the pitch as an icon with some of my old teammates! Maybe @romeobeckham and @cruzbeckham will think I am a cool dad now."
