The 1994 FIFA World Cup is the 15th World Cup to be hosted by the United States from June 17 to July 17, 1994 at nine venues across the country .
Organized cities and stadiums
Three countries have bid for host obligations: the United States, Brazil and Morocco. The election was held in Zurich on July 4, 1988 and did only one round. The US bid, which received more than half of the votes cast by members of FIFA's executive committee.The tournament is played in nine cities across the United States.
All stadiums have a capacity of at least 53,000 spectators. Stadiums used most are the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, with eight matches, including the round of 16, semi-finals, third and final. The Giants Stadium near New York hosts seven games,
including the semi-finals. Boston (Foxborough), San Francisco (Stanford) and Dallas Hosted six matches, with Chicago, Washington and Orlando hosting five. Pontiac Silverdome Stadium uses the least amount of competition 4.
Participated countries
The 24 qualifiers were divided into four groups, which formed the basis for the draw for the group stage. Participating groups include:
Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Cameroon, Morocco, Nigeria, Mexico, United States (hosts) Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Republic of Ireland, Romania, Russia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
Final Match
Brazil won the title after beating Italy 3-2 on penalties at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California after the match. In the result 0-0 after overtime. It was the first World Cup final to be decided by a penalty. This victory makes Brazil the first country winning four World Cup.
