Manchester United have confirmed the appointment of Jason Wilcox as technical director with immediate effect.
Darren Fletcher will continue to play a key role in the football leadership team working across the men first team and the Academy.
United stated in a statement that Wilcox will work with all technical divisions of the Football Department to achieve the highest standards of play.
Wilcox was former director of football at Southampton and before the principal at Manchester City.
As a player he won the Premier League with Blackburn Rovers in 1995.
