The rift that led to Ben White forced self-deportation from the England squad began with a comment by Gareth Southgate assistant Steve Holland at the 2022 World Cup.
In a Telegraph Sport report it was said that the Arsenal defender had asked to return home from the game after a conversation between him and the Netherlands in front of other team members.
It is understood that the second-choice Englishman asked White questions about Arsenal performances last season after asking similar questions to Kyle Walker regarding Manchester City.
When White said he did not know the answer it was claimed that the Dutch responded saying it was because he was not interested enough in football quoting the player in an interview a year ago.
The Telegraph also confirmed that there was another private conversation between the two later that day and before White request to leave the camp there was nothing left.
Southgate has denied reports of a fall between his aides. But now it seems that there is a problem of respect for White part and that is why he is rejecting the opportunity to represent his country at this time.
