Manuel Neuer pulls out of Germany squad with new injury

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has been forced to leave the German national team and return to his club to recover from injury.

Neuer who has made 28 appearances for Bayern this season has been called up by Julian Nagelsmann for his upcoming friendlies against France and the Netherlands.

But after an injury while training with the national team the 37-year-old has withdrawn from the squad and will return to Munich.

According to reports from BILD German goalkeeper Neuer will be the club number one player at this summer European Championships but Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen will join. Hold the position in the upcoming friendly match.

Both Neuer club and his national team will hope the injury is not too serious.
