Thomas Partey is not named in Ghana for their upcoming matches against Nigeria and Uganda in the March national team break.
According to Charles Watts the Arsenal midfielder himself has asked the Ghana Football Federation to remove him from the squad.
He made the excuse to continue working hard after recovering from a recent injury.
With that privilege Partey will be with Arsenal and working to achieve the best fitness level to be available for the game after a break from the national team.
The 30-year-old is keen to play a key role in helping the Gunners compete for the Premier League and UEFA Champions League in recent months.
He has been restricted to just seven appearances for Arsenal and is an unused substitute in the exciting win over FC Porto in the 16th round of the Champions League.
